Pastoral Care

Pastoral Visits To Two East Kilbride Care Homes.

Stewartfield Parish Church are providing Christian pastoral care to residents of Cathkin Care Home, East Kilbride and Ryan Meadows Care Home, East Kilbride and we give thanks to God for their witness. The West Kirk are blessed to have been invited by Stewartfield Church to join them in this Christian mission. Next planned visits are on October 26th and November 9th. Please keep this mission work in your prayers.

The Pastoral Care Team shall nurture our people in the Church and community by providing pastoral care and support through expression of Jesus' command to love one another.

Jesus repeated the words of Isaiah and said:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” (Luke 4, 18-19).

The Pastoral Team ensure that any housebound member of our congregation , unable to attend Church are still be involved in Church life through pastoral visits by team members.

Visits can range from one to many depending on individual circumstances. Our current list has around twenty people in this position and we visit them periodically during the year.

The list is open to all of our Church members and the team is often reliant on members and elders to identify those in need of a visit.

Gifts and cards are often provided and a general chat about mutual friends and how our Church is continuing to change and evolve is often of interest.

When prayers are requested pastoral team visitors offer them up to God.
